- Hello, I’m Nicola. I’m a latecomer to interpreting. I previously working with adults and children with learning disabilities, for youth offending and social services before completing my degree in BSL and Deaf Studies in 2017. Since 2017 I have worked a mix of jobs, some education and some as a TSLI. I am now mainly working as a FreelanceSLI. I am based in Cumbria and travel around the NW for work. I mainly work in the community with some education work. I attend ASLI NW meetings when possible and I’ve got a lot out of being a member, lots of professional support and guidance as well as the CPD opportunities. I joined the board October 2018 and worked as part of a team organising webinars as well as being the main person dealing with communication (KYIT, Social Media, forum updates). I stood down in 2022.
