Assertiveness Training with Dr Sally Austen

This session will be led by Dr Sally Austen, aimed at Trainees and RSLIs alike. The training is held via Zoom and will be a 2 hour interactive session.

The role of the LSP has always been complex, but since the evolution of video calls this has significantly increased.
In this workshop, we will explore the different approaches to disquiet: assertive, passive, aggressive and look at how this affects our thoughts, feelings and bodies. We will also explore how our environment shapes the approaches we take or would like to take.
We will look at what we might be able to change to improve either our own well-being and/or the service provided to the client – and what not.
My workshop tends to be quite interactive. If possible, I ask attenders to keep their cameras on and to share their own experiences where relevant.
Pre and post reading is provided. I also offer to stay in contact with attendees after the event as they put this learning into practice and may have further questions.
