Deaf with Dementia Training with Interpreters

Do you want to understand more about what dementia is?

Do you want to find out how to support communication with Deaf BSL users living with dementia and their families?

This full day workshop, based on real life examples from the Deaf community, will enhance your knowledge and support your everyday strategies while you are engaging with Deaf people living with dementia and their families.

 

Dr Emma Ferguson-Coleman is a Deaf research associate within the Social Research with Deaf People (SORD) group at the University of Manchester.

Her PhD explored the everyday experiences of Deaf BSL users living with dementia with their care partners and the Deaf community’s knowledge and understanding of dementia.

She is currently working on the Deaf with Dementia Life Stories Project at the University of Manchester.
