Explore the different variations in how some letters are formed for specific words.
Video receptive work to test your skills and take a look at Fingerspelling categories.
At the end of the session, you should have a better understanding of fingerspelling and hopefully will have the tools to continue your Fingerspelling journey.
You will be given Advanced Fingerspelling package for 12 months and it can be used in for the continuing professional practice (CPD), up to a maximum of 6 points for the year.

I was born into a Deaf family; both my parents are Deaf and use BSL. Going to Deaf clubs and Deaf events were part of my everyday life. I was fortunate to be able to read Fingerspelling well thanks to my neighbour and my mum. I was elected onto the BDA Board and then went on to be elected as the BDA Vice Chair for my second term. I am the founder and Director of Signworld Learn Ltd, which is an online learning tool for those who wish to learn BSL.
Nationally and internationally recognised for my role in the development of teaching BSL, I have led my field in adapting the curriculum to match learner’s needs. I enjoy teaching and have an innovative approach to learning and teaching, introducing materials and ideas such as ‘location’ and ‘role shift’ to improve learning. Taught various sign language levels from beginners to interpreting level over the years.
