Interpreting PIP assessments – FULLY BOOKED – CEA

An interactive half day looking at the demands and dilemmas of interpreting for face to face PIP assessments led by Simon Hesselberg. Organised by the CEA region but open to all.

There will be a presentation, case studies and resources to support you to prepare for working in this complicated environment.

Aims:

Aware of the background of PIP and how it applies
Understand how people are assessed for personal independence payments (PIP).
Know what to expect at a face to face assessment.
Have confidence to interpret effectively, and ethically, giving relevant, useful and accurate information at a face-to-face assessment.
Understand what the DWP expects from interpreters, and assessors.
Understand the appeals process and what to expect at a tribunal hearing.

CPD certificates will be available for this 3 hour training.

Drinks and light refreshments are included.

If places become available the cost is: ASLI members £10 Non-ASLI £35

This event will be followed by Afternoon Tea at the Assembly House in Norwich.
