Introduction to International Sign with Gavin Lilley

The webinar will cover the basic aspects of how to efficiently communicate with foreign sign language users. Together we explore the concept of international signing, how it works and is used effectively. We will look at the similarities in the grammatical structure between sign languages and consider how to utilise certain elements to ensure that the most internationally accessible form of signing is used. We will also discuss the hindrances that can come through cultural differences and how these can be overcome, ensuring that signed dialogue is as clear and as widely understandable as possible.
