SW region: Introduction to Music Interpreting

17th February 2024 @ 9:30 am - 6:00 pm

We’re all really aware that the amount of performance interpreting, such as festivals and music concerts is on the increase.
But when thinking about interpreting songs, how do you decide whether to stick to the lyrics or interpret the meaning? How do you combine the two in one split second!?
We’ve persuaded Performance Interpreting to come to Bristol for one day only!
Marie Pascall (performance interpreter) and Daryl Jackson (sign language consultant and user of interpreters in performance settings https://rampsonthemoon.co.uk/member-info/daryl-jackson/) will host a day’s training to unpack interpreting songs.
The process for registering on this course is that you will send Performance Interpreting a booking form by email to reserve your place and they will send you an invoice nearer the date.  The booking form will and information will be emailed to ASLI SW Massive regional members. If  you would like to book, email us at southwest@asli.org.uk and we’ll send you the form or email directly access@performanceinterpreting.co.uk
The ASLI SW Massive regional team have approached ASLI to ask for budget to subsidise this course for our members, and we’re waiting to hear back from them. The training day without subsidy is £185. We’re hoping the final cost to ASLI members will be a bit less than that – keep your fingers crossed!
