Webinar: Disabled Students’ Allowance – Navigating the System for Deaf Students

Sally is a London based deaf professional with wide experience of working across higher education, arts, charity, health and corporate settings.

She currently works as a Disability Adviser at the London School of Economics. Sally previously worked at UCL and Roehampton. She is also a Specialist Support Professional (SSPD) working with deaf students in Higher Education across the UK, at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

In this session, Sally will explain how the Disabled Student Allowance works, along with SFE processes. She will discuss the challenges that deaf students face, from the application process to implementing support. Sally will describe from a HE professional perspective what reasonable adjustments deaf students can expect in their support plan.

In addition, Sally will explain her role as a SSPD and the range of support that she offers in enabling deaf students to navigate their studies.
