Webinar:Science and BSL

Presented by Audrey Cameron and Gary Quinn

Dr Audrey Cameron and Gary Quinn will be discussing how to use BSL will help to unlock scientific concepts and will share their thoughts/ideas about working with interpreters in scientific domains.

They will also explain the process that the Scottish Sensory Centre’s BSL glossary team at the University of Edinburgh followed to create new signs for science terminology, whilst adhering to the principles of BSL linguistics.   

There will be a Q&A session where you can ask questions about working with BSL users working in and/or learning science. 

Dr Audrey Cameron is a Teaching Fellow in Science Education and STEM BSL glossary manager based at the University of Edinburgh.  Gary is an Assistant Professor of BSL linguistics and works as a lecturer and researcher at Heriot-Watt University.  He is also studying part-time for a PhD.
