West Midlands Presents…Benjamin Gorman: Working with a Translator/Deaf Interpreter

March 29 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

West Midlands Presents is very proud to welcome Benjamin Gorman to deliver this excellent webinar on working with a Translator/Deaf Interpreter.

Benjamin is a Registered Sign Language Translator and has been involved in BSL Translation all his life, coming from a Deaf BSL family. He has worked in a variety of domains (including social care, lectures, conferences, webinars, tribunals, and many more) and with a range of clients including DeafBlind clients and those that require language modification.

Benjamin works to promote the role of Deaf Translators/Deaf Interpreters in both the profession and the deaf community. In furtherance of this Benjamin joined the Board of Association of Sign Language Interpreters as a Director in October 2020.

In this webinar Benjamin will share his experience of working as a Translator/Deaf Interpreter alongside RSLIs, and provide a “checklist” of things to consider when working with a Translator/Deaf Interpreter.

This is a free event for ASLI members only. This event will not be recorded.

The presentation will be delivered in BSL.

We will provide English captions, please contact us with any other access needs.

Please RSVP to receive the Zoom link, which will be sent nearer the date.
We look forward to seeing you on 29th March at 7pm,

Liz, Ruth, Selina and Vicki
