EFSLI Webinar: Pausing your Practice can help you thrive: Reflective Sessions can make you a better interpreter and a better remote worker DESCRIPTION:(NOT an ASLI event\, if you have any problems please contact the organiser) \nRegistration deadline: 30th June 2020 \nWhat is this training about? \nIn the webinar we will go through some of the new Demands on us and new Controls available to us as remote Sign Language interpreters. \nWe will speak more about the type of support there is available to us now that we don’t have as much access to our peers and colleagues. \nAnd we will discuss the benefits of Reflective Practice sessions with paid Supervisors to nourish and encourage our development. \nTwo-hour interactive Zoom session: Presentation\, small group work\, plenary and Q&A. \nThis presentation will incorporate work by Dean and Pollard\, Maslow\, Hoza\, Hawkings & Saville and if time allows\, Downie and Napier. \nWhere \nInstructions on how to get connected to the efsli webinar platform will be given to registered participants. \nTraining Schedule \n7th July 2020 – 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm (CET) \nWho is our trainer? \nDavid Wolfenden \nDavid Wolfenden is a Supervisor\, Trainer\, Mentor and BSL Interpreter. He’s a regular at efsli events\, having represented England\, Wales and Northern Ireland for many years at AGMs and for a number of years he was coordinator of the (then) Special Attendance Fund. He has been interpreting for over 30 years and now spends much of his time helping other interpreters thrive. \nCommunication at the training. \nThe training will be delivered in English and IS interpretation will be provided. \nCorrespondence with efsli and official documents will be in English. \nWho can register? \nThis training is designed for interpreters \nImportant \nSelection of participants will be made according to the “first come\, first served” system. \nHow much does it cost? \nPayments must be made the same day of registration.
