Emotionally numb? Worn out? Loss of interest and enthusiasm for work? Easily upset and running low on tolerance? You may be approaching or experiencing burnout. Burnout is a term used to describe the point where we are emotionally\, mentally\, and physically exhausted\, where we feel we can no longer cope and have nothing else to give. Burnout comes from an accumulation of stress in our professional lives\, often from trying to meet unreasonable and unrealistic demands (from other people and from ourselves). \n  \nIn this time of COVID 19 and lockdown\, we all face many additional challenges\, including grappling with technology\, and the fact work is intruding into our home\, a space that was previously an escape from the stressors of our job. It is important that we develop strategies to protect ourselves from the impact of blurred boundaries between work and home. \n  \nThe crucial time to attend to burnout is before it happens. To do your job well\, you need to be well. Using tools employed in Professional Supervision\, this workshop will help you to direct your focus back to yourself and will emphasise the importance of self- care. With that in mind\, this workshop will: \n  \n\nHelp you recognise the signs of burnout.\nImprove your understanding the stressors in your life and how to manage them.\nLook at how you can separate out work from home life and how you can ‘end’ your working day.\nEquip you with skills and strategies to build your resilience and avoid burnout in the future.\n\n  \nBiography \nJules Dickinson is an experienced and qualified Professional Supervisor\, community interpreter\, trainer\, and researcher. She is passionate about supporting people to be healthy and resilient practitioners. https://www.safespacesupervision.co.uk/ URL:https://asli.org.uk/event/recognising-burnout-before-you-are-toast/ LOCATION:Manchester YHA\, Potato Wharf\, Castlefield\, Manchester\, M3 4NB CATEGORIES:Regional meeting END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
