Conference |
Reframe: Our ‘theoretical’ strand, with presentations on academic or practitioner research to guide our thinking about interpreting and translation in new ways. Large group, in the main conference room with screens for presentation slides. Around 150 people.
Reset: Our reflective strand where we take stock; reflecting; looking at our practice with fresh eyes. Small groups, up to 20 people. Participant led discussions and practical activities.
Refresh: Our interactive workshop strand, where we engage in activities or discussions to refresh our skills and develop our practice, or to explore ways to nurture ourselves. Medium size groups, around 40 people. Interactive and practical or discussion based, depending on the topic.
We are looking particularly for submissions for the Reframe and Refresh strands, which are the main presentations and workshops. If you have an idea for the Reset strand please get in touch. Also please do contact us for a discussion if you feel you have a workshop idea or paper you would like to present and want to chat it through before submitting.
Presentations and Workshops are up to 50 minutes. All presentations and workshops will be delivered in BSL.
Please create a signed BSL video of your abstract or summary of what you propose to cover (maximum 5 minutes).
Upload your video to your preferred platform (youtibe, vimeo etc) and send the link with the title of your presentation or workshop and a 50 word written summary* to administration@asli.org.uk with ‘Conference 2024 Submission’ in the email subject line.
Deadline for conference submissions: 27th May
We’ll be in touch with questions or clarifications, and a final decision by 10th June.
* The written 50 word summary will be used in the conference programme to help conference delegates select what they want to attend.
