Imposter Syndrome – How is it impacting us and what can we do about it?

This webinar will explore the Imposter Experience; feelings of self-doubt and inadequacy that can persist despite outward appearances of competence. Imposter Syndrome can lead to anxiety, depression, loss of enjoyment in one’s profession and reluctance to advance one’s career due to feeling fraudulent. Drawing on research of Imposter Syndrome in the interpreting and translation profession we will highlight how it is experienced and discuss strategies for recognising and overcoming it. By actively recognising and discussing the phenomenon of Imposter Syndrome, we can become more confident professionals, benefiting ourselves, our colleagues, and the clients with whom we work.

The webinar will be presented in spoken English, please contact Julie on cresswelljg@gmail.com if you would like to arrange BSL interpretation.
