The Association of Sign Language Interpreters is proud to host this year’s GoingPro 2025 conference in Brighton on Saturday 27th September.
The conference will provide a day of short workshops running across two strands focussing on ‘Fundamentals’ and ‘Futures’.
Workshops under the ‘Fundamentals’ strand will provide overviews and details across a range of key areas for starting out in practice.
Workshops under the ‘Futures’ strand will support the consideration and navigation of career planning, for the future development of knowledge and applied skills, in domains which students of interpreting/translation and trainees might wish to aspire to.
Examples of workshop topics*: NRCPD registration & requirements - the why and the how; Preparing oneself for self-employment; Access to Work; Neurodiversity and Interpreting; Equality, Diversity & Inclusion; Professional Supervision; Social Care & Safeguarding; Working with Deaf Interpreters; Interpreting for ‘Events’ (e.g. music/theatre/conferences); Interpreting with children and those with complex language requirements; Interpreting in mental health settings; Top tips from and for early career interpreters
