DEVELOPING INTERNATIONAL SIGNING WORKSHOP

We are delighted to introduce this workshop which is ideally suited for these that have participated in the original ‘Introduction to International Signing’ workshop, or for these who have some experience in working in international settings but want to develop their skills further.

This workshop will increase even further the participant’s use of visual language strategies and will introduce a better understanding of International Sign (IS) to convey dialogue using visual and globally recognised signs and gestures that can work across a broad spectrum of world cultures.

Participants will be challenged by the use of a large variety of IS styles in tasks that reflect real life situations. There will be emphasis on roleplay scenarios, interpreting tasks and translation work using materials from international deaf organisations and news mediums.

Expect a lot of tasks, discussions and analysis throughout this very practical workshop.

This two-day course is open to RSLI’s, TSLI’s and Deaf Interpreters.
