Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming many fields, including interpreting, so let's talk about it. This interactive workshop will explore AI basics, the potential benefits and practical applications of AI tools for interpreters, and address crucial considerations regarding privacy and ethical use. We'll create a safe space for discussion about our current AI usage and explore what impact AI might have on the future of our profession. The workshop will be run by Tom Mould and last for approximately 2hrs.
Tom Mould is a qualified BSL/English interpreter with a keen interest in technology and AI. Tom is based in Hertfordshire, England and has been qualified since 2012. Tom is currently studying on the MSc Advancing Practice in Signed/Spoken Language Interpreting at Queen Margaret University and works full time as a freelance interpreter.
This session will be delivered in English. BSL / English interpreters available on request.
