Language Modification – Joe Collins

This workshop will give you an opportunity to discuss and practice Language Modification.

Have you been in an Interpreting situation where the information is hard to convey? Perhaps the Deaf client had a specific language need and your BSL required modifying and you struggled to do this.

This training will provide a safe, confidential space to discuss these interpreting issues, learn and share ideas; so please come along as open as possible to share your experiences.

Joe Collins is a native BSL user from a Deaf family who has worked in the media for over twenty years (BBC, Channel 4) and has owned and managed a Deaf company. He provides BSL 1:1 coaching and BSL workshops for Interpreters and CSW’s, and has written and published a book called ‘CUT’ and recently took over as the Co-ordinator for DUK50plus.
