£50.00 – £55.00With Jules Dickinson and Wendy Ledeux
Telephone Interpreting Workshop Saturday 15th May 2021 10.00am – 4.00pm
Stressful, frustrating, challenging…but sometimes successful and enjoyable. These are all words which can describe interpreting via the telephone, when face-to-face with a Deaf person. Now we have an added layer of complexity, interpreting telephone conversations through remote platforms such as Skype and Zoom. In both settings would you like to have more of the successful and enjoyable, and less of the stress? Do you want strategies to help you produce a better outcome for you and your clients? Then this is the workshop for you.
Led by Jules Dickinson and Wendy Ledeux, this highly practical, online workshop will help you to explore and refine the skills you need for successful telephone interpreting. Using a combination of taught sessions and group exercises, we look at what can make telephone calls so challenging, and how we can create strategies to better manage this type of interpreted event. The aim of the session is to equip you with a set of tools that you can draw on to make interpreted telephone calls a smoother and more satisfactory experience for all parties.
