Personal Independence Payments – What’s it all about?

An interactive day looking at the demands and dilemmas of interpreting for  face to face PIP assessments.

There will be a presentation, case studies and resources to support you to prepare for working in this complicated environment.

Aims:

Understand how people are assessed for personal independence payments (PIP).

Know what to expect at a face to face assessment.

Have confidence to interpret effectively, and ethically, giving relevant, useful and accurate information at a face-to-face assessment.

Understand what the DWP expects from interpreters, and assessors.

Understand the appeals process and what to expect at a tribunal hearing.

Refreshments provided, please bring your own lunch.

 

£20 for non-members, £10 for members.
