Resilience training with Mike Kay

£15 – £30Mike is a Senior Lecturer in Counselling Studies at the University of South Wales and an experienced Mental Health Counsellor for the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. A Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Counselling Joint Studies, Mike also leads on a number of Modules for the BA (Hons) Creative & Therapeutic Arts and BA (Hons) Counselling and Therapeutic Practice. He brings to these roles, a wealth of experience in Learning & Development, having previously worked for Royal Mail for 25 years.
Mike’s special area of interest is Psychological Stress. He also has a particular interest in the development and onset of ‘Compassion Fatigue’ among Health and Social Care professionals. He has worked closely with Macmillan Cancer Support over the last 8 years, providing training in well-being and resilience.
More recently, Mike has qualified in Mindfulness Teacher Training with the Centre for Mindfulness Practice and Research at Bangor University, practicing mindfulness personally, with his clients and providing mindfulness training.
Mike has kindly offered to customise the content of the day to the needs of the delegates by sending out questions prior to the event.
