RSI and Interpreting
25 Jan 2024, 7.30pm – 9pm
Presented by Daniel Roberts in spoken English, BSL Interpreters will be provided.
This session will provide an opportunity to find out more about RSI, the upper body, and the possible effect our job can have on our bodies. We will take some time to think holistically about our work, our life, and the relationship between the two. There will be an opportunity to think about preventative steps, where we can go for support, and ask questions. (Please be prepared to have your video cameras on.)
Pre session task: please keep a diary of everything you do with your arms over the course of a week.
Useful resource – Woodcock and Fischer: Occupational health and safety for sign language interpreters. Please copy and paste the following into your browser:
This session will be delivered in English with BSL interpreters.
Limited to 24 spaces – please consider each other and check your availability before booking.
This session will not be recorded.
Spaces will be shared between the two participating regions, South West Massive and Devon & Cornwall.
If you can’t attend or the event sells out, you can register your interest by getting a ‘cannot attend’ ticket so we know how many people are interested.
