Abigail Gorman is the Policy and Public Affairs manager for SignHealth, a Deaf Health Charity, and a Human Rights activist. She is currently a member of the World Federation of Deaf People Human rights expert group, and advocates for the rights of Deaf people. She is also a MSc student at Birkbeck College University of London, studying Gender, Sexuality and Society.

In this webinar, Abigail will discuss the findings of her dissertation, ‘The impact of Disabled Students Allowance regulation –  Deaf students narratives.” It will explore the power dynamics between students, interpreters and interpreting agencies and will make recommendations on how to improve deaf students experiences in higher education
