Webinar: Decision Making

June 4 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free – £25

Ethical Decision Making

Presented by Ali Hetherington

This webinar will explore core ethical issues that may arise for interpreters and factors, which may influence our individual responses. Core ethical issues include confidentiality, client autonomy, trust, fairness and impartiality. Interpreters are likely to encounter a wide range of ethical concerns in the course of their professional life, which can lead to considerable anxiety, as many interpreters work in isolation and may be uncertain where to turn when faced with difficult decisions. You will be introduced to an ethical decision making tool that can assist in making a considered response to ethical issues that may arise in your work practice.

Learning Outcomes:

Define the core ethical issues for interpreters
Consider what factors influence our decision making
Develop a working understanding of an ethical problem solving model
