West Midlands – ‘It’s okay to not know’ with Dr Sally Austen, Consultant Clinical Psychologist
16th July 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
£10.00 – £20.00*** This event is for working and student interpreters***
Piloted in June 2021 with really positive feedback, Dr Sally Austen, has agreed to make this a bi-monthly event. She will take questions and topic suggestions in advance, give a brief presentation on her experience of the subject(s) and then chair a time for attendees to discuss and share.
The emphasis is always on ‘It’s okay to not know’. There is no such thing as a ‘stupid question’.
By sharing our knowledge amongst a widely varied group, we have more opportunities to learn.
Sally is the co-editor of the recently published ‘An Introductory Guide for Professionals Working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Clients in Clinical, Legal, Educational and Social Care Settings’ by Austen and Holmes (eds), which has 84 chapters written by 44 authors (half of whom are deaf, Deaf or hard of hearing), which can be bought on Amazon.
