West Midlands Trainee Interpreter Event…Sharing our practice with Racheal Veazey (RSLI)

With a large proportion of our work moving to online and constant requests to share our work, remaining online after the event; the landscape of interpreting has shifted. This session is a practical, interactive session, to look at a short section of two live interpretations (one production and one voice over clip) that were public broadcasts and have have stayed up online for several weeks in a very public domain. Participants will be invited to critique the recordings and look at the demands on, and the controls available to the interpreter in this situation. We will treat the interpretation as a ‘lego’ project – dismantling and reshaping the interpretation, equipping the participants (and the facilitator) with tips and ideas for coping strategies and phrases useful for future live work.
