Free – £15.00

Presenters: Jill Henshaw, Brett Best, Jules Dickinson.

Laying a Foundation of Self-belief: Combatting Imposter Syndrome in the interpreting and translation profession

This webinar will explore the concept of Imposter Syndrome; feelings of self-doubt and inadequacy that can persist despite outward appearances of competence. Imposter Syndrome can lead to anxiety, depression, loss of enjoyment in one’s profession and reluctance to advance one’s career due to feeling fraudulent. Drawing on research of Imposter Syndrome in the interpreting and translation profession we will highlight how it is experienced and discuss strategies for recognising and overcoming it. By actively recognising and discussing the phenomenon of Imposter Syndrome, we can become more confident professionals, benefiting ourselves, our colleagues, and the clients with whom we work.
This webinar will be provided in English with BSL interpretation. An activity will be sent out to you prior to the webinar, please complete this activity to aid discussion.
