ASLI London region is happy to have Paul Redfern offer a Deaf perspective on working with interpreters and how to be resilient and professional in the different situations we find ourselves in. This is an extended version of his well-received keynote speech at Going Pro in November 2023, and is primarily aimed at students, trainee translators/interpreters and newly qualified RSLT/RSLI(RI)/RSLIs.
Presenter Bio
Paul Redfern is semi-retired, working part-time with Action Deafness as a Training and Compliance Manager delivering training to staff. Paul is also the Chair for The All Wales Deaf Mental Health and Wellbeing Group. Paul worked as a manager for the British Deaf Association, and Richmond AID, and has worked in Swaziland (now Eswatini). Paul was the lead writer for Teach Yourself BSL (and the book is still selling after 13 years…) available online at major retailers.
