The UK’s new Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 which received Royal Assent on 19 June 2025 promises to reduce paperwork while improving transparency. Some changes took effect immediately, while others are being phased in over the next 12 months.
It’s the biggest shake-up of data rules since GDPR. But don’t panic—many of the changes are designed to be more practical, especially for smaller businesses.
Session aims:
• Makes the key principles of data protection relatable
• Highlights the specific risks and responsibilities for freelance Sign Language Interpreters
• Explains the impact of the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025
• Uses real-world examples, discussion, and activities
Trainer Bio:
For over five decades, Noel Guilford has dedicated his career to helping businesses and individuals thrive. After earning an accountancy degree, he qualified as a chartered accountant taking on both auditing roles and the training of new graduates.
He’s launched an office, grown a business, been a partner at one of the world’s largest accountancy practices, Deloitte, but realised his most valuable lessons came setting up his own firms.
Today, he runs Guilford Accounting, focusing on two key areas: providing compliance and advisory services to entrepreneurial business owners, and guiding fellow accountants who want to start their own practices. His approach is holistic, offering not just financial expertise but also mentoring on business strategy, marketing, and personal development.
Outside work, he stays motivated by reading, and his passion for sport—especially football, tennis, and cricket—provides a welcome balance to his professional life.
