Using a combination of taught sessions and group exercises\, we look at what can make telephone calls so challenging\, and how we can create strategies to better manage this type of interpreted event. The aim of the session is to equip you with a set of tools that you can draw on to make interpreted telephone calls a smoother and more satisfactory experience for all parties. \nLearning Outcomes\nAfter this workshop you will:\nHave gained a deeper understanding of the intricacies of interpreted calls.\nHave developed your awareness of the norms and rituals that underpin non-interpreted calls.\nAppreciate the importance of working collaboratively with the deaf consumer.\nBe equipped with the necessary tools for interpreting via the telephone and other remote platforms. \nThis will be in English only.
